This is my fourth poetry collection. Unlike my three earlier collections, the poems were written, first, in the site of migration, while tightrope walking-balancing isolation and despair with efforts to connect with the homeland. Second, by discarding old strategies of using love poems to conceal radical beliefs. Third, by recognizing contradictions-feminist theory and the realities of being a homemaker, joining the struggle in spite of distance. Finally, the collection asserts that "exile" does not dictate separation; instead, it challenges the migrant to constantly be involved in the fight for justice and genuine sovereignty.
