Summary: In the field of research in disabilities many different methods and procedures have been adopted to aid in the acquisition of fruitful result. The scientific method in research on disability studies is important and effective. There are systematic and specific steps that are followed by the researcher to conduct the research as characterized by scientific method of research. Historical research in education is an enquiry about educational phenomena as they emerged, existed and developed further. Historical research employs historical methods of study in education. It aims to ascertain the nature, causes and reliability of educational happenings of the past with a view to contribute to better understandings and interpretation of the present and the future. Qualitative research relief primarily on words as its nit of analysis and its means of understanding.
