The branch of science which studies language is known as linguistics. Some of the various aspects which are analyzed within this field are language meaning, language in context and language form. The study of language meaning, also known as semantics, is involved in the study of the relationship between signifiers and their denotation. The context in language refers to the frame that surrounds the event and which provides the resources in order to interpret the event appropriately. The study of form in linguistics, also known as theoretical linguistics, focuses on the nature of language and the various questions related to it. This book discusses the fundamentals as well as modern approaches of linguistics. Those with an interest in this field would find this book helpful.
