Summary: Understanding the psychological needs and academic self-efficacy of high school learners in the Pantawid Pamilyang Filipino Program is crucial for promoting student success and well-being and breaking the cycle of poverty through education. Hence, this descriptive-correlational study investigated the psychological needs and self-efficacy of junior and senior high school students under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program in Sagbayan for the 2022.2023 school year. It found that students generally perceived a high level of satisfaction in their psychological needs-autonomy, competence, and relatedness-with relatedness ranking the highest. Furthermore, the students demonstrated high levels of academic self-efficacy, particularly in terms of persistence. A significant correlation was found between the fulfillment of psychological needs and academic self-efficacy, suggesting that meeting these needs can bolster students' academic confidence. Recommendations include enhancing autonomy support, fostering competence development, promoting positive social connections, supporting self-efficacy beliefs, cultivating persistence and resilience, and encouraging slef-regulated learning in educational settings. Future research should consider mixed-method studies for triangulation.
