Tentative hypotheses were made on the basis of the argument that social axioms that define more personal control over life outcomes will positively predict perceived academic control. Using data from 183 Filipino university students who were asked to respond to questionnaires measuring their social beliefs and perception of control over academic outcomes, a multiple regression analysis was conducted to determine if social axioms are predictors of perceived academic control.
