Summary: Hacking is the act of gaining access through the computer system or network without proper authority or exceeding the original authority given to him. Many commentators and researchers have reported on the conceptual and legal aspects of hacking. However, hacking's theoretical, conceptual, and legal aspects have remained under-researched. Whenever the word 'Hacking' or 'Hacker' comes to our mind, the picture or the image which is created is that of an intelligent being who is criminal by nature, who attacks other computer systems, damages it, break codes and passwords, send viruses etc. This book explores the relatively new criminal phenomena of computer crime, or as it is more commonly termed, hacking. The foundation for the examination is based on how well traditional psychological theories of crime and deviance explain this new behaviour.
