Counseling is advice which a therapist or other expert gives to someone about a particular problem. In a counseling session, the counselor meets with another person and allows him or her to talk about what is bothering him or her and helps him or her to resolve their conflicts in a way that makes him or her feel better and better able to cope. This book is designed to help aspiring school practitioner (school psychologists, school counselors, and school social workers) gain the necessary theoretical background and skill set to work effectively with youth in schools.
