Summary: Abstract The Philippines has the fastest growing HIV epidemic in Asia. In Camiguin there is a significant increase in HIV cases and all the reported cases were males. Human immunodeficiency virus is an epidemic waiting to happen unless people will religiously follow the A-B-C-D-E of prevention. Condoms are 91% effective in disease transmission. The 100% Condom Use Program is an intervention program that aims to prevent transmission of sexually transmitted infection and human immunodeficiency virus in the general population. A quantitative research design is used in this study and a questionnaire as the main tool in gathering data. A majority of the respondents are 18-22 years old (79.92%), Roman Catholic (85.61%), from the Municipality of Mambajao (64.77%). The study revealed that the respondents has low knowledge about Human immunodeficiency virus regarding transmission and prevention and demonstrated low perception of condom use. There was no significant differences on the respondents’ knowledge of HIV and perception of condom use when grouped according to municipality and religion. Intensive advocacy of HIV and its prevention should be done since there is low knowledge about HIV and less likely to use condom in future sexual encounters.
