520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | Abstract: The global concern about climate change has surged, prompting individuals and organizations to take action. Businesses, specifically, the food manufacturing industry___ identified as a significant contributor to climate change___ have been compelled to reevaluate their supply chains and operational processes. This has increased attention to green supply chain management (GSCM). Hence, this study aims to examine the GSCM practices of food manufacturers and assess their influence on perceived business performance. Data was collected through a survey administered to 30 food manufacturing firms, yielding 120 responses from managers and production staff members. The collected data were statistically analyzed using linear regression and analysis of variance with SPSS software. The findings indicate that food manufacturers in Bohol, Philippines, have practiced internal environmental management practices, green procurement practices, and green manufacturing practices in their operations to a large extent. The data also show that GSCM practices have a positive and significant influence on perceived business performance. However a gap existed between managers' and production staffs' views on GSCM implementation. To address these gaps, strengthening GSCM initiatives through sustainable technologies, comprehensive training, regular monitoring meetings, and periodic evaluations are recommended. These are essential to foster environmental accountability and enhance employee engagement in sustainability efforts.<br/> |
