Summary, etc. | The study employed the quasi-experimental design to assess the impact of sequestered learning with the use if headset as a prelude to collaborative activities and its impact on academic performance in General Biology and a pre-test and post-test control design. The study sample comprised of 30 students from 11 STEM Engineering which is the experimental group and 30 students from 11 STEM Medical which serves as the control group. The experimental group was taught using the sequestered learning with the use of headset while the control group was taught using traditional method. The post-test results were analyzed, and the findings of the study show that there was a significant difference between the performance between the experimental and control group. The experimental group got a higher mean score, suggesting there was a high improvement in their performance, and this was statistically significant. Utilizing sequestered learning is therefore a good alternative method or intervention in enhancing the academic performance of General Biology students. On the basis of these findings, it is recommended that further studies be conducted on other subjects and level to see the consistency of its impact on the academic performance of the students. |
