Summary, etc.
Abstract

This study aimed to assess the services offered by DOH Treatment and Rehabilitation Center-Cebu City to its female drug abuse patients. The extent of compliance by the center to the DOH minimum standards outlined in the DOH Manual of Operations for the operation and accreditation of DATRCs in terms of facilities, services and resources were determined. The level of clients’ satisfaction on the services availed from the Center as well as the level of behavior change of the patients during and after their treatment and rehabilitation program was also determined. Moreover, the recommended actions and strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of treatment and rehabilitation services of the Center were identified as well. Through the quantitative analysis of data, it was revealed that DOH TRC-Cebu City offered almost all of the DOH required services except for Psychiatric service, the Center administered almost all of the DOH recommended therapeutic activities to its female drug abuse patients except for Community Work project, and it used three of the DOH recommended treatment modalities namely the Multidisciplinary Team Approach, Therapeutic Community Approach, and Eclectic Approach. It was revealed further that the center is not yet 100% compliant with the DOH minimum standards on facilities, services, and resources considering the overall compliance rate of 73%. DOH TRC-Cebu City needs to comply with all the deficiencies or lacking requirements to qualify for accreditation as a DATRC with DOH. However, the level of clients’ satisfaction, as well as the level of behavioral change, is high since the patients were very satisfied with the treatment and rehabilitation services they received from the Center and they have changed a great deal in their behaviors.
