Summary, etc.
ABSTRACT

Job satisfaction defines the fulfillment of a person in different factors that composes the work. In this study, job satisfaction was categorized into three domains such as: Interpersonal relationship, personal achievements, and work conditions. Aspiration is defined as the hopes and desires of a person towards work and its contribution. In this study, the aspiration ;was based from the theory of Maslow on Heirarchy of Needs and it is categorized as physiological, safety and security, belongingness and love, esteem, and self-actualization. Nurses are known to be one of the latest paid jobs in the country with a strenuous type of work on saving and taking care of lives in the hospitals.

This study aims to determine the level of job satisfaction and aspiration among staff nurses. Furthermore, the results of the study will serve as a basis for proposed enhancement measures. Using a quantitative method approach with the aid of self-structured questionnaires, the study targeted the nurses from the three different hospitals in the City of Tagbilaran. Using a random sampling procedure, it took at least 30% from the total population of both casual and regular nurse employees. Result showed that on the overall job satisfaction, the nurses were moderately satisfied with their job satisfaction. Among all of the domains on interpersonal relationship was highly rated while the least rated domain was on agreement among the nurse. On the aspirations, all of the needs connotes a strong work condition. However, the domain of belongingness and love gained the highest rating from all the needs presented in this study. On the significant difference between the profile and the job satisfaction and aspirations, the study revealed that not all of the profiles came out to have a significant degree of difference to the two independent variables. Lately, job satisfaction and aspirations of nurses revealed that it has no significant degree of correlation.

The study concluded that the attainment of the aspirations and needs among the nurses will also define their job satisfaction in the overall perspective of their job. It recommends that the employer should focus on looking at the factors that affects their job satisfaction and determine the aspirations of the employees.
