505 _aThe Evolving Nature of Leadership Critical Perspectives as Interpretative Frameworks Interpreting Leadership Theory Using Critical Perspectives Attribute-Driven Theories Production-Driven Theories Leader-Driven Theories Group-Driven Theories Relationship-Driven Theories Complexity-Driven Theories Justice-Driven Theories Integration and the Path Forward
520 _a"There is a clear gap in the market for a survey text on leadership theory that is interdisciplinary, includes theories designed for use with college students, and is grounded in social justice. Existing texts tend to (1) be bound to a single discipline, such as business or psychology, (2) lack the critical perspective necessary to fully understand the justice orientation central to many contemporary leadership theories, and/or (3) omit the very theories designed for working with college students. This last issue is particularly troubling given the rapid expansion of curricular and cocurricular leadership programs on college campuses. Collectively, these limitations result in curricular and cocurricular educators' reliance on the few existing and inadequate texts or the need to cobble together multiple texts, articles, and chapters to present the necessary breadth and depth of information"--
