520 _aGifted and talented students are often referred to as highly potential students who look for challenging educational circles to ensure that they can progress. There are a number of reasons for gifted and talented students' academic underachievement. Therefore, strategies for uplifting gifted and talented students and intervention plans need to be developed. An intervention plan may vary from student to student. Students who demonstrate mastery of concepts or advanced understanding of a particular topic are entitled to enrichment. Enrichment is a powerful tool because it accommodates both student interest and real-world application Enrichment can be a powerful tool. As one of the easiest modes of education to integrate into the classroom, it can be planned for and integrated into the regular curriculum easily. A teacher can introduce new learning for four days, followed by enrichment activities for those students who have mastered it and extra help for those who have not. For it to be successful, it needs quality teaching and effective differentiation. It has been found that gifted education programs and strategies help students increase aspirations for college and careers as well as determine post-secondary and career goals.
