Scall-scale fishing is one of the major livelihoods among people living in Albuquerque and Baclayon, a pair of neighboring towns situated facing the northwestern region of Bohol Sea. In this study, the socio-demographic profile of local fisherfolk, along with the catch composition, mean catch production, catch per unit of effort (CPUE), income per unit of effort (IPUE) and nature of small-scale fishing in East Poblacion, Alburquerque and Montaña, Baclayon were determined from November 2023 to March 2024. A total of 62 species were collected, identified, and classified into 37 families. Mean CPUE was 0.8594 kg/man.hr (0.07) for Montaña. On the other hand, mean IPUE was 126.82 php/man.hr (36.50) for East Poblacion and 106.52 php/man.hr (6.25) for Montaña. In general, the fishing gear used by small-scale fishers surveyed in this study are typically adapted to specific local conditions and target species, making the current gears specialized and effective for their intended use.
