Nursing students' sources of stress and their coping strategies/ Michelle N. Estorpe, et.al.


Abstract
The study aimed to determine the sources of stress of nursing students and to identify the coping strategies adopted by nursing students in which uses the research-made questionnaire with 232 participants (composing 2nd year, 3rd year, and 4th year students) aiming to identify their sources of stress and their coping strategies. The findings reveal that among the four main areas of the sources of stress, professional training has the highest level of stress. Among the coping strategies, the students used a great deal in terms of focusing on the positive. The researchers found no significant differences across year levels in either the sources of stress or the coping strategies adopted which means students across all year levels reported similar levels of stress. The study demonstrates a significant positive correlation between the sources of stress and coping strategies adopted by nursing students.
