This book is intended to assist would-be English teachers in their journey towards the achievement of outcomes related to the actual teaching and assessment of literature studies in the target language. The pre-service teachers (PSTs) will explore on the nature of literature and theoretical bases, principles, and methods and strategies in the teaching and assessing of literature in the different genres: poetry, prose, and drama. In this journey, the PSTs will prepare developmentally sequenced lesson plans with a range of assessment strategies in the teaching of literature.
