In fact, one in three adults has hypertension worldwide (WHO, 2012). One of the leading global risks for mortality in the world is high blood pressure. (WHO, 2009). Objectives: The primary purpose of conducting the study is to assess the self-care behaviors of hypertensive senior citizens in Loboc, Bohol. Methods: The study used quantitative descriptive cross sectional approach. The list of the respondents was taken from the Rural Health Unit in Loboc, Bohol. There were 150 hypertensive senior citizens in 9 barangays were given questionnaires and responded to the survey. The analysis was performed from the data collected in the investigation. Results: Majority of the participants were above 75 years old, female and married hypertensive senior citizens. Further, more than half of the respondents have controlled blood pressure and less than half have uncontrolled blood pressure. Majority of the respondents were adherent to medication, physical activity, weight management, alcohol abstinence, on the other hand, the majority of the respondents were non-adherent to the dietary regimen. There is a significant link between age and blood pressure control, while there is no significant association between sex/civil status and blood pressure control among the elderly hypertensive patients. There is a significant relationship between the six-care behaviors and the blood pressure control among the hypertensive senior citizens. Conclusion: The study revealed factors on the control of blood pressure. Hypertensive senior citizens who are in more advanced age have better control of their blood pressure than those in their early senior years while self-care behavior among hypertensive senior citizens has a significant impact on blood pressure control.
